United Gas & Power named on the Sunday Times Virgin Atlantic Fast Track 100

Leeds, 29th November 2019

Today, United Gas & Power announces that it has been recognised as one of Britain’s best performing businesses on the Sunday Times Virgin Atlantic Fast Track 100 list, 2019. The Sunday Times Virgin Atlantic Fast Track 100 league ranks Britain’s fastest growing privately held companies, based on sales growth over a three-year period.

“This is a huge accolade for our business and for all of the people at UGP that have played a pivotal role in our growth and success. In 2013, myself, Philip Kane and Mohammad Hafeez joined together in a shared vision to create a commercial energy business with a unique approach to customer care” says Ross Taylor, Co-founder of UGP.

Ross continues “By adopting a disruptive approach to the market, our vision, which is now embedded into the company’s values, was to deliver a customer-centric, flexible and values driven service underpinned by an exceptional team of committed, ambitious people, world-class customer care and a deep understanding of customers’ needs.”

Customer care lies at the heart of the companies offering. Currently boasting an industry leading 5-star Trust Pilot score and service levels that keep customer retention levels at over 90%, the business is leading the way in the supply of commercial energy solutions across the UK.

As one of only eight companies in Yorkshire to feature on the list, United Gas & Power is deeply committed to its local community as well as the environment. In addition to supplying 100% renewable power to its business customers, UGP has recently teamed up with the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust in a partnership that pledges the planting of a tree for each new customer.

Philip Kane, Co-founder comments “As a business, we believe that fundamental change is needed at a legislative, business and individual level if we are to preserve the beautiful planet we inhabit for future generations. We also believe that as an energy supplier to businesses across the UK, we have a moral obligation to consider UGP’s environmental impact and we’re delighted to be able to give back to the community through our tree planting scheme with the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust”.

With over 60 employees based in its purpose-built facility on the outskirts of Leeds, the company has no plans to slow down and is currently actively recruiting to further bolster its current team.
