Major Account Manager – B2B Energy Sector

SALARY: Circa £45,000 (Uncapped Commission)

HOURS: Monday – Friday 08:45 – 17:00

LOCATION: United Gas & Power – 16 Otley Road, Guiseley, LS20 8AH (10-minute train from Leeds City Centre – station is a 30 second walk from the UGP office)

The company is currently looking to recruit an internal office-based sales professional to join the team based in Guiseley. This role requires a person who is driven, ambitious with a hunger to learn, earn and progress! Having grown from 3 to almost 60 employees in just 8 years, this is perfect timing to get on-board with an established, yet rapidly growing business… we’re essentially hiring our future leaders! This key appointment will contribute to driving the company forward through the generation of new leads and opportunities focussing on high consuming and/or multisite organisations. Recent investment and development of sales software and back-office functions ideally places UGP to attract some of the UK’s largest organisations. We are searching for a driven and creative individual, who will work closely with the Head of Major Accounts to find new and innovative ways to attract business from some of the UK’s highest consuming clients. This is a unique opportunity which will give the successful candidate the ability to grow and progress within the business and develop their knowledge to a high standard.

The Role

  • Proven high level Sales and Key Account Management experience
  • Strong understanding of B2B energy market. Knowledge of pass-through and flexible contracts is preferable
  • Build and develop a pipeline, primarily focussed on high consuming and multi-site businesses
  • Follow up on marketing campaigns to ensure maximum opportunities are created from outbound advertising
  • Canvass new opportunities and generate interest
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and be able to cold call potential clients with confidence are key
  • Face to face presentation experience and skills
  • Experience analysing data with great attention to detail
  • Commercially savvy with competent negotiation & influence skills
  • Use skills and knowledge of the company and its competitors to consistently identify opportunities to maximise sales potential

  • Knowledge of energy trading
  • Knowledge of EV charging, energy storage & renewable asset generation

As the role develops, so will you. You will play an active role in the on-boarding of new clients and assist with management reporting. Playing a vital role in UGP achieving key performance indicators.

You will be accustomed to using a solution-based sales approach whereby customer needs are central to achieving sales targets and ultimately lead to resilient, long-term commercial relationships. Presentable, polished, intelligent and articulate, you will be commercially aware, goal orientated and self-driven.
