Overview
As one of the fastest growing and highest rated commercial energy suppliers in the UK, we are looking to recruit an experienced Programme Manager to deliver our Market Wide Half Hourly Settlement (MMHS) programme, based at our offices in Guiseley, Leeds.
The role involves taking responsibility for delivering all aspects of the programme working closely with workstream leaders, key internal stakeholders, external suppliers, and agents. You will be overseeing all workstreams covering Smart meters, IT vendor selection, system implementations and upgrades, changes to operational processes, customer migrations, and managing all areas of Compliance with the Industry programme.
To be considered for this role, you will need to be an experienced project or programme manager, or have had extensive experience working in a programme environment in a leadership role. You should also have an excellent knowledge of the UK gas and electricity markets, ideally with a strong understanding of Smart meters and the MHHS programme.
Responsibilities
- Deliver all aspects of UGPs MHHS programme ensuring that UGP comply with all external Programme obligations and are ready to operate in the new MHHS environment.
- Lead the Programme and oversee all workstreams, working closely with internal stakeholders, external vendors, agents, and Regulatory bodies.
- Select and implement UGPs choice of DCC Adapter solution, so that UGP can interact with the DCC network directly from their CRM.
- Guide business teams to Identify all operational process changes that will be needed to deliver MHHS, and implement changes so that UGP can continue to operate within the MHHS environment.
- Work with UGPs external CRM partner to implement all system changes that are necessary for UGP to operate within the new MHHS framework.
- Identify and implement any other system changes that may be necessary to meet MHHS obligations.
- Plan and oversee the migration of all UGP meters into the new MHHS operating environments.
- Manage all external Industry Programme obligations and communications, ensuring that UGP remain compliant in all aspects of the Programme.
- Plan, facilitate and oversee relevant workshops and engagement sessions, both internally and externally.
- Oversee all project deliverables and documentation.
- Support Smart meter installation planning, where appropriate.
- Maintain an awareness of Regulatory changes and ensure UGPs adherence to the Smart Energy Code (SEC).
- Prepare for and facilitate Smart CIO audits, including liaising with auditing teams and managing post audit follow-up actions.
- Input to Smart commercial strategies.
The Individual
- Demonstrable experience in managing complex projects in the energy or utilities sector.
- Proven ability to deliver and manage projects - scope, plan, people, progress, deliverables, risks, issues.
- Can lead and motivate cross-functional teams to deliver on time and to quality
- Accustomed to managing 3rd party suppliers and agents.
- In-depth understanding of the UK energy market.
- Strong understanding of IT systems and operational processes.
- Understands the MHHS Industry programme, smart meters, and settlement processes.
- Strong analytic skills and problem solver.
- Experience of IT security, audit, risk and compliance activities, and (ideally) has knowledge of the DCC CIO audit processes.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with internal and external parties,
- Prince2 Practitioner (ideally).
