Freeways is a charity that has been providing residential care and support to people with learning disabilities since 1987. Their services have changed over the years to meet the needs of the local community, the individuals they support and the government. They provide support for people across North Somerset, Bristol and South Gloucestershire in accommodation-based services and in their own homes, as well as a small number of respite placements in South Gloucestershire.

Managing energy suppliers across our 30+ meters was a real challenge for us and UGP has provided us with a solution that ticks all the boxes. From the very first call with them, we felt confident that they’d deliver far more than simply cost savings, and we’ve not been disappointed.
Environmental Sustainability
100% of the power supplied to Freeways is generated from renewable energy sources, including wind, hydro and solar. By switching to renewable power, based on Freeways’ anticipated annual usage, the charity will save 267 tonnes of carbon emissions per year, the equivalent carbon offset of 44 fully grown trees.
In addition, UGP funds the planting of a new tree for every new energy contract, in partnership with the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust. Since the partnership began in 2020, over 3,000 trees have been funded and planted in Yorkshire’s beautiful countryside to further offset the impact of each new UGP energy contract.
Our account team has been professional and efficient throughout - handling the entire process on our behalf and we are delighted with the service. Before working with UGP, we were getting bills from multiple suppliers and in many different formats. The data on our consolidated billing platform, coupled with new smart meters will save us a huge amount of time and effort, allowing us to focus on what we do well - helping others. We would not hesistate to recommend United Gas & Power to any organisation, particularly those struggling with multiple sites and complex requirements. Thank you UGP for all your hard work.
