What is a CT Meter?
A CT (Current Transformer) meter monitors the flow of current through large wires by using current transformers instead of a direct connection. This type of meter is ideal for situations where the wires are too large to connect directly to the meter.
What Does kVA or Agreed Supply Capacity Mean?

How Do I Calculate My Load Requirements?
To determine your load, check the data plate or badge on each of your appliances to find the input/output rating. Add these ratings together to calculate the maximum load. If you need assistance, consult the appliance manufacturer or a Gas Safe™ registered engineer.
How Can I Verify if My Gas Pipework is Live?
To confirm whether your pipework is live, contact your local gas transporter. You can:
- Use the Find My Supplier online tool.
- Call the Meter Number Helpline at 0870 608 1524 (calls cost 7p per minute plus your normal call charges).
What is a GT1 (Gas Test 1)?
A GT1, or Gas Test 1, assesses the capacity of your gas pipework. To request a GT1, provide your peak hourly load to your network provider. A Gas Safe engineer can calculate this by summing the maximum kWh ratings of your gas appliances.
Please note that the process typically takes four to six weeks.
Why Do I Need to Complete a Gas/Electricity Application Form?
Filling out the application form helps us gather the details necessary to process your request and ensure your gas or electricity supply and meter are correctly set up to meet your needs.
